Stacklands

Game description:

Stacklands is a card-based village building and survival game where players manage resources, construct buildings, and fight enemies by stacking cards together on a board. Instead of controlling characters directly in a traditional world, every object in the game exists as a card. Villagers, food, animals, tools, structures, and enemies are all represented through interactive cards that combine with each other to create new items and systems. The gameplay mixes survival mechanics, crafting, and strategy with a simplified visual design focused on card interactions.

Building a Village Through Cards

The game begins with a small group of villagers and a few starting resources. Players drag villager cards onto berry bushes, trees, rocks, or animals to gather materials and food. Different combinations unlock new recipes and structures that help the village expand over time. For example, combining wood, stone, and villagers can create houses or workstations that improve production efficiency.

The game does not follow a traditional story campaign with scripted cutscenes. Instead, progression happens through quests, discoveries, and unlocking new card packs. Different packs introduce farming systems, cooking stations, weapons, advanced buildings, and dangerous enemy creatures. Each completed objective unlocks additional content and more difficult challenges. Over time, the village grows from a simple survival camp into a larger settlement with specialized production chains and combat systems.

Survival and Resource Management

One of the main mechanics in Stacklands is balancing food production and village growth. At the end of every moon cycle, villagers must eat enough food to survive. If food supplies become too low, villagers can starve and die. Players must constantly gather resources, manage card space, and prepare for random dangers such as enemy attacks or environmental problems.

Main gameplay activities include:

  • stacking cards to create new items

  • collecting food and raw materials

  • building houses and production stations

  • fighting creatures and defending villagers

  • unlocking recipes and discoveries

  • expanding the village through new card packs

Combat and Progression Systems

Enemy creatures appear regularly during gameplay and can attack villagers automatically when they come into contact. Players improve combat strength by crafting weapons, armor, and advanced structures. Some enemies are weak and easy to defeat, while others require larger groups of armed villagers and careful preparation.

The game is played entirely through mouse controls focused on dragging, combining, and organizing cards on the board. As more cards appear, managing space becomes an important part of survival. Some players focus on efficient farming systems, while others prioritize exploration and combat. Stacklands combines survival strategy with card mechanics while creating progression through crafting, village expansion, and resource management across increasingly complex gameplay cycles.
