OpenFront places the player in charge of a region with one purpose — expand or be removed. The game begins with basic resources and a few structures. From there, decisions branch into military, economic, and geographic strategy. Each unit deployed is a commitment, and each building is a long-term investment. No opponent waits quietly. Every move must be done with knowledge that others are growing in parallel. The board does not pause for anyone.
Developing Systems and Positioning
The main tools available are production, movement, and alliances. Players must create buildings that generate income, train forces, and control access to different terrain. There are no scripted events, but the pressure comes from others doing the same at the same time. Expanding into open areas may bring resources, but also visibility. Holding a narrow border can provide safety, or become a trap if surrounded. The geography of the map matters just as much as the armies on it.
