Wanderburg

Game description:

Wanderburg is a strategy roguelike where the player controls a moving fortress that travels across a changing landscape. Instead of managing a traditional army or building a stationary base, the main structure in the game is a castle placed on large wheels. This fortress becomes both the player’s vehicle and the center of all strategic decisions. As the castle moves through the world, players collect resources, expand the structure, and prepare for encounters with enemies and environmental challenges.

A Castle That Moves Across The World

The most distinctive feature of Wanderburg is the mobile fortress. The castle is not fixed in one location and can travel across the map while exploring different areas. Movement allows the player to reach new locations where resources and opportunities can be found.

While traveling, the fortress can interact with objects on the map and encounter other moving structures. Positioning the castle correctly becomes part of the strategy, because its orientation and movement affect how it performs during encounters. Players must carefully decide where to move next while managing the resources required to keep the fortress operational.

Building And Upgrading The Fortress

As the player progresses, the castle can be expanded by attaching additional modules. These modules improve the fortress and change the way it functions during exploration and combat.

Typical upgrades and gameplay actions include:

·         collecting materials from different areas of the map

·         attaching new structural modules to the fortress

·         installing weapons such as cannons or defensive towers

·         strengthening defenses against hostile encounters

·         adjusting the layout of the fortress to improve performance

These elements allow players to gradually transform the moving castle into a more capable structure.

Procedural Exploration And Strategy

Wanderburg uses procedurally generated maps, which means the environment changes every time a new game begins. Terrain layout, resource locations, and enemy encounters vary between playthroughs. Because of this, players must adapt their strategies to new situations rather than relying on a fixed route.

The world may contain other mobile castles that act as opponents or obstacles during exploration. Encounters with these structures can lead to battles where positioning and fortress upgrades become important factors. Each decision about movement or expansion can influence whether the fortress survives the journey.
